Quadro flamenco 2 dancers, 1 guitarist and 1 singer
Was formed in July 2007 during a concert at “Les jeudis des musiques du monde” festival in Lyon. It included three artists : François Tramoy (vocals) and Maria Gasca (dance), who had already together contributed to several groups since 2003 and Aurelien Gallichet (guitar). Benjamin Nicola came later to replace the latter on the guitar and other dancers came to join the project, such as Virgil Berger-Goloz and then Jorge Diaz Rodriguez. Since this first concert, the quartet have played in various places such as café-concerts, theatres, cultural centres, and even at private parties
The cuadro flamenco “Forasteros” offer a pure Flamenco in the Andalusian tradition where poverty, strength and emotion are the pillars of the show. On the trail of a "Camaron de la Isla" Forasteros has drawn its world from the vast repertoire of pure flamenco. From the dark singing of "Cante Jondo", the "free" singing of Malaga, Granada and Cadiz including those in lightest spirit of the "Cantes Chicos", Bulerias and other festive tangos.
The four elements of the quartet - song, dance, guitar and percussion - add their different combinations of contrasting moods throughout the concert. The highlights of the "Bailes" in which dancers and musicians express their enthusiasm and their skill in explosive energy combined with the intimacy of the songs of lament between the guitarist and singer with the lighter feel of songs shared by all or the contemplation of the guitar solos.
The emotion and spontaneity of the show lead artists and audience into a dialogue and a shared history in which the public is invited to freely take its place.
