A kind of musical journey, all carried by the me- lodies and rhythms borned of a verbal repertoire that is often misunderstood.
Founded in 2008, this explosive formation is gradually forging itself a solid reputation, asserting itself in the region as a benchmark of style, notably renowned for their unique energy on stage. Indeed, it is on stage that the musical spirit of Forró de Rebeca shows its real meaning, communicating to an ever growing audience their joie de vivre that is so typical of Brazilian culture.
Throughout the years, the group has met with many other artists, forging fantastical bridges to other cultures. Among them, Gnawas de Marrakesh, the cosmopolitan electro of DJ Tudo, or even, the intimate song of Reno Bistan... Between tradition and creation, they produce from these cross-overs a resolutely original sound that is undeniably current.
In 2010, a first opus (« Volta do Mundo » - 5 tracks) will be created, co-produced by Casamarela and Athos Productions. Recorded in Lyon by the Jarring Effects studio team, this album will confirm the maturity of this generous artist combo, cheerfully distilling their « music of today to the sounds of the past ». A must-listen !
