In the years 1950 to 1968, Roger Besse, pharmacist, General Counsel, Mayor of Pierrefort (Cantal), passionate about modern techniques and especially modern cinema, filmed with his amateur camera a whole life of the township. From small and large events, to portraits, parties and landscapes... An exceptional document of an era, but also an art of remarkable film, a personal view of alternating lyricism and humour, a sense of detail and movement. Born of this abundant "raw material", "The pharmacist’s eye" offers a series of short themed films to which imagined Auvergne music sets the scene. A dialogue between past and present is created, between tradition and modernity, between generations. Images and music tell a little piece of humanity together, inviting the viewer to look to the future by building on the legacy of the past.
